The Joshua Project

Joshua… the protégé of Moses… a truly experienced wanderer, and the newly appointed leader of God's chosen people was commissioned with quite a task: leading the Israelites into a place they had never been… the Promised Land. Joshua certainly did not have all of the final answers, but he did know that God said it was time to go, so he prepared his people and stepped into the Jordan River on faith to cross to the Promised side.

This Old Testament scripture reveals several parallels between the Israelite people and the people of Rosemont Church. As we approach our 40th anniversary as a congregation (a rather significant number throughout Scripture) it becomes more and more evident that God has begun a great work in this place, and, yes, I believe it is truly the beginning. With a ten year vision established and taking root, God is continuing to provide clear direction as time unfolds. Just as the Israelites waited for God to show the way into the Promised Land, we have waited, watched, and prayed that God would take us to new places, into a world that is larger than we ever imagined before, a scope of ministry that will reach farther and wider than anything ever attempted in our ministry before.

God working in us, through us, with us… what a bright, bright future ahead, and ready or not, the future is now. God is calling on us, counting on us to be His hands and feet right here in this region, in the state of Georgia, throughout the United States and around the world.

There is such joy in knowing we will all arrive at the next place in this ministry for the first time together… into a place we have never been before.
